A giant nail you can actually teach on.

Try explaining an apex to a room of students on a nail that's two centimeters long. Everybody leans in, nobody sees it, and you end up saying "just watch me do it" for the fifth time.

This is that same nail, blown up to where the whole room can see it.

WHAT IT'S FOR

  • Teaching. Demonstrate shape, structure, and design at a size a whole class can follow.
  • Display. A finished, decorated giant nail on your station or shelf is the best advertisement for what you do.
  • Design. Work out a set at full scale before you commit it to a client's hand.
  • Decor and novelty. It's a big beautiful nail. People pick it up, ask about it, and take pictures of it.

Please read: this is a 3D printed educational and display piece, not working equipment. Everything in the set — the finger, the nails, the bits, the holder, the files — is 3D printed. The bits and files are oversized teaching replicas for demonstrating and naming tools to students. They do not fit an e-file and they do not file anything.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How big is it?
The large finger stands 8.5 inches tall and the small stands 7.5 inches. Both take the same interchangeable nails.

Is this a working tool?
No. It's an educational and display piece. Everything in the set is 3D printed, including the bits and files, which are oversized replicas for teaching and demonstration — not functional equipment.

Can I paint on it?
Yes, and that's a big part of the point. The nails take paint beautifully. Decorate them, display them, buff them back and start again.

Can I put acrylic or gel on the nails?
You can — lightly buff the surface first so the product has something to grip.

Can I use acetone on it?
No. Acetone will damage the surface. Buff it back instead.

Will it break if it gets knocked over?
No. It's solid and it's been dropped. It holds up to being carried to class, handed around a room, and lived with on a busy station.

Is this good for nail students or nail schools?
That's exactly what it's built for. At this size an entire class can see what you're demonstrating instead of crowding around one hand. Email me if you're buying for a classroom.

Are the nails reusable?
Yes. Buff them back and redo them as many times as you want. Extra nails are available separately.

What is it made of?
3D printed plastic, printed in my own studio.

It's nice, it's a great idea, but it needs some refining to actually be more useful. There are only 4 holes for magnets, which makes it not that stable. After spending $27 for the file and $50 for a local 3d printer company to print it I was left disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing idea, with great potential, it just needs more magnets. I may see if my print company can modify it to make it work, but the trays are so loosely together that they slide around making it not super practical for salon use and storage.
